Keep Plano #1
Keep Plano #1 seeks to be a guiding force in the future direction of Plano, educating its citizens and advocating for its position on the issues before the City Council, the Mayor, city staff, and other organizations affecting excellence in Plano.
Keep Plano #1 will identify issues that impact quality of life and livability in Plano and articulate and communicate these to the citizens of Plano. We will identify what makes Plano a great city and encourage its leaders to continue building on these strengths and services.
How we’ll do this
Keep Plano #1 will educate and engage its diverse citizens to support the vision of Plano moving forward as a City that provides exceptional services to its citizens in a cost-effective manner, providing for a great place to live, work and enjoy leisure activities.
Why we’ll do this
People come to and stay in Plano because it has a proven track record of providing the highest level of
desirable city services at the lowest tax rates in the North Texas area. We believe that is due in large
part to Plano’s historically non-partisan election of officials who put the city and its citizens first, as well
as good, practical, economically sound management by city staff.
We don’t want that to change. A key impetus behind Keep Plano #1 was our concerns about factions advocating economic, religious and political agendas that do not put Plano first. These partisan agendas are based on ideology, not good governance. Such partisanship does not belong in Plano. We hope to keep it that way.
What we’ll focus on
Keep Plano #1 will focus on the programs, services, leadership, and development issues that have a
direct impact on the quality of life and livability for our citizens, workers, and visitors. These include city
services, education, neighborhood redevelopment, economic development and investments in our local
workforce and youth.

We realize numerous issues will present themselves in the years to come, especially as North Texas
continues to grow. Because we can’t be involved in all of them, we believe it’s best to limit our
involvement to issues that make a significant contribution at the city level and do so with a high moral standard.
