Keep Plano #1 sought to bring together like-minded citizens dedicated to the principles stated above into an organization to serve Plano in the long term. 

 

KP1 has participated in City Council elections over the past several 2-year cycles, and helped to elect numerous candidates, including Maria Tu, Rick Grady, Kayci Prince, Julie Holmer as well as Mayors Harry LaRosiliere and John Muns. (While we don’t focus on partisan affiliation, it’s important to note that that list includes candidates who personally identify as Republicans as well as Democrats.)

 

Over the past few years, we have advocated on several issues and taken positions in support of the group’s mission.

 

We also have conducted workshops and educational efforts encourage more citizens to become involved in the committees, boards and commissions which make the recommendations and decisions impacting our community. 

 

In 2023 we expanded our efforts to include the entirety of the Plano ISD area and the election of candidates to the Board of Trustees.
